The 2010 APC Fishing Tournament
Our 22nd Tournament!
It is hard to believe that we're approaching our 22nd tournament of great teams, great camaraderie, great benefit to the community. The Anadarko Fishing Tournament began in 1988 under the UPR umbrella with a handful of volunteers and participants, but word of mouth and an enjoyable experience accelerated the growth to nearly 100 teams in 2006. Teams are made up of one Anadarko employee and one other person who works inside the oil and gas industry.
Other companies have also taken note of the event’s success. Donations for food, supplies and trophies are so plentiful that the tournament committee only covers the prize money and cost of the permit, setting aside more money for the biggest reason for the event – charity.
Each year, the committee donates money raised from the tournament to a selected organization or fund.
In 2006, Anadarko employees raised $100,000 for a fellow Anadarko employee whose wife needed emergency surgery. In 2007, the APC Fishing Tournament raised $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The 22nd APC Fishing Tournament is proud continue to sponsor Casting for Recovery, a national non-profit support and educational program for breast cancer survivors. They enhance the lives of breast cancer survivors by offering no-cost retreats tailored to promote and support mental and physical healing through shared experiences and the learning of new skills.
We hope to see you out on the lake to benefit this wonderful cause!
